Does Hanging a Weight From Your Head and Lifting It Really Make Your Neck Bigger?
Because Ive been doing it and all that happened is its gotten more tone. Im sick and tired of my pencil neck!! does doing this really make it grow?

Actually, for me personally speaking, yes!!!
I am a tiny woman and I started doing this particular exercise you’re talking about, and I went from having a long dancer’s neck to something that looked close to a line backer’s neck, so, needless to say, I’ve not completely stopped, but I’ve put on the breaks a bit. It freakin’ works, so, either you’re not having good form, or you’re not taking in enough cals (I take in 3000/day), or something.
My stats: 110pds, 5ft6in, dress size zero, BMI: 17.79, bench press 95. I took one of those Merck manual hard cover desk references and laid on my bed and hung my head and neck off the side and slowly did the exercises…front, both sides, and back. Boy, did it work! Not liking the linebacker’s neck, I’ve halted by quite a bit. Now, I just have a toned, dancer’s neck that’s long-looking and graceful.
For a guy, make sure these neck exercises that tone and bulk up the width, are really going to be in proportion to the rest of you. You don’t want what I had and look out of proportion. I am a slim girl, myself, and not all linebacker’s necks look good on everyone, especially ectomorph somatotypes, which is what I am–otherwise known as a hardgainer. I’d read up on some more literature before giving yourself a neck ache. I am guessing you’re also an ectomorph somatotype. We ectomorphs are good at endurance sports such as running, speedskating, etc, etc.
Good luck to you and I hope this helped you a little bit.
Sounds weird but possible!
