How to Get Rid of Double Chin?

My husband has a slight double chin beginning and obviously we wanted to know from those experienced what is the best way for him to stop and/or get rid of it. Everyone who answers, please take a stab at all 3 questions below.

1) Is losing weight all that is required? Will if actually just go away if he loses the weight?

2) Are there exercises he can do to tighten the skin under his chin?

3) In the worst case, how much (estimate) does it cost to have plastic surgery to tighten this area of the neck?

My rather large uncle had a double chin a couple years ago but since then he’s started eating better and exercising regularly. He’s definitely lost a lot of weight overall and his chin is almost single now. It seems that the chin’s fat is proportionate to the whole body. Your husband probably needs to lose a bit of weight overall to get rid of the double chin.

double chins are almost always hereditary. You might be able to minimize them by losing weight, but weight will almost always go back. Humans are not really proportional and it is nearly impossible to distribute fat to any particular location.

You can try liposuction or a face lift.

Get a volley ball or soccer ball and put it under your chin and push it towards your neck, not so much that it hurts. It worked for my aunt.

I would say a combination of exercise and weight loss would get rid of the double chin. An excercise to try would be to tip your head back and open your mouth wide, as you are closing it force the lower jaw out making a severe underbite. Repeat this a lot daily, it will tighten the muscles in the chin and lower jaw. Good luck.
