Puppy Acting Strange.. Help!?

I have a dachshund mix puppy that is 7 weeks old. I got her her first shot last week when I first got her… so i have only had her 1 week.

I had a pit puppy who died from Parvo a almost 4 weeks ago. and I also have his sister who never caught the parvo.. she is 10 weeks old.

The Dachshund puppy has been Absolutely fine up until an hour ago.. this morning she ate like a horse, and this afternoon about 2 hours ago too. Her poops have been normal consistency for a puppy (like soft serve ice cream) but today they’ve been a greenish color. (like hunter green).. but not liquid… same soft puppy poop.

I just noticed about half n hour ago she threw up a tiny bit of food.. it was just like 3 pieces of her puppy kibble mixed in with saliva.

Right now she is sleeping on my chest and she has a sad look to her face. The other pup is fine, chewing everything in site and just being a puppy like she always does.

Can my Doxie mix pup be having the very early signs of Parvo? Like i said, no diarrhea and she hasn’t had any blood in her stool or vomit. She just might be tired right now, and after she takes a nap she could be perked up and acting like her puppy self in no time.

Her nose is wet and when i lift her neck skin, it goes right back down.. so she isn’t dehydrated… She also has a fat belly (no from worms.. she was wormed) and just an hour or 2 ago, she ate like a horse.

IF she does have parvo (god i hope not!!!!), why didn’t my other pit pup catch it? do ALL puppies catch it if exposed to it? is she just a bit stronger cause she is older so she wont get it?

thanks for any info!

Also, if she does have parvo.. i can’t afford anymore vet bills, but i cannot watch her die.. what do i do???! :( .. does pedialite work?

You should have waited 6 months – 1 year to get a dog because the parvo virus can still be present in your house. If you can’t afford the vet bills, you shouldn’t have a dog. Give your dog to a shelter and explain the situation. They can hopefully treat it and give it a good home, or humanely put it down. Denying your dog veterinary treatment is cruelty by the law.

GET HER TO THE VET NOW AND DO NOT BRING ANOTHER PUPPY WITH OUT ALL IT’S SHOTS INTO THE HOUSE FOR AT LEAST A YEAR.

The prarvo shot takes at least too weeks to be effective and two shots. this puppy is only 7 weeks old and has no immunity at all. yet you took her into a house where there had been a parvo death only 4 months ago. Did you vet not explain the danger to you? Your other pit puppy has been very lucky so far, but may still get it.

If you can’t afford the shots and you can’t afford the treatments, you can’t afford the dogs. Turn them both over to the shelter, before two more dogs die.

Puppies should NOT leave it’s mother til it’s 8 weeks old! Puppy get immunity through the mothers milk. Shots are given at 8, 12, and 16 weeks old. De worming should be done at 4, 6, and 8 weeks old. Puppies ARE NOT protected from disease, until 72 hours after the 2nd vaccination is given This is when they start building up antibodies against diseases. Not ALL puppies get parvo. Your other dog may have built up antibodies when around the dog with parvo. I would have the pup checked out by a Vet. Parvo can kill them within 24 hours. When your other dog had Parvo, did you bleach EVERYTHING in your home? Hope you got new dog bowls and bedding. Good luck with your lil’ one!
